Jose Mourinho refused to be drawn into talks over the future of England and Tottenham skipper Harry Kane in his pre-match press conference. Tottenham take on Newcastle on Saturday and the Portuguese only wanted to focus on the game at hand.

Kane, who scored the opener in England’s win over Albania and a penalty in the 2-1 victory over Poland during the international break, has indicated that he will make a decision on his Tottenham future after the European Championships, admitting that it is a “hard question to answer right now”.

Harry Kane still has 3 years left in his Tottenham contract

Tottenham were eliminated from the Europa league by Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb despite having 2 goal lead from the first leg. Their only other realistic chance of winning a trophy this season is the Carabao Cup when they take on Manchester City on the 26th of April.

the forward has three years remaining on his current deal at Tottenham, it has been suggested that Kane may want to move elsewhere in order to challenge for major trophies, and the striker’s latest comments have fuelled speculation concerning whether he will still be at the club next season.

The 27-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid. However, Mourinho wasn’t impressed with the line of questioning regarding his start striker’s future ahead of Tottenham’s Premier league match.

“I cannot play that game,” said Mourinho referring to speculation over Kane’s future.

“I have to focus on what he is for us. I’m always pleased when my players go to their national teams and do well.

“I don’t know if he always has a smile on his face but he’s always professional. He has some nice challenges, a final to play, a challenge for Europe and the Euros.”
