These past few days have been the first time Josh Allen has been without head coach Sean McDermott in the eight years he has spent in the National Football League.

The change came about after owner Terry Pegula felt that the head coach was at fault for the way his Buffalo Bills lost to the Denver Broncos in their Divisional Round game, and dismissed him the next day.

The news certainly came as a shock, as many felt that if not for Allen’s turnovers in that game, maybe McDermott would have looked forward to completing a decade with the team.

Instead, they were forced into a long search for his replacement, with some surprising names appearing along the way. Finally, after much deliberation, the top brass, along with their quarterback, felt that offensive coordinator Joe Brady was the best bet.

Before the new head coach could be introduced, Josh Allen made his way to the media room to speak to reporters for the first time since that gut-wrenching loss.

If I make one more play, that game in Denver, we’re probably not having this press conference right now. We’re probably not making a change. In all honesty, we’re probably getting ready to play another game.

Josh Allen told reporters

It seems the reigning league MVP shouldered the blame for his head coach losing his job. After all, his tears may have saved him from the wrath of the media and fans, but his coach could not escape the owner’s wrath.

Josh Allen played a month with broken bone

Josh Allen arrived at this press conference on crutches with a boot on his right foot. Since this was not something that was evident until their divisional round game, reporters threw a barrage of questions at him.

If we had a game this week, I would be playing this week… I had a little broken bone in there… Painful throughout the weeks… It’s been an older injury, but just re-aggravated it there. Fifth metatarsal, I think is what it’s called.

Josh Allen replied

He has already gone through the procedure to fix the broken bone in his right foot and is expected to undergo recovery over the next two-three months.

Allen did not use this as an excuse for the loss and reiterated that had the Bills progressed to the AFC Championship game, he would have played through the pain, as he had been for the past month.

The signal caller broke the bone in their Week 16 clash against Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns. He did not have a great game, as the league-leading defense harassed him all day. Still, they managed to win thanks to James Cook‘s dominating performance.

Josh Allen looking forward to being a father

As Josh Allen limps away into the offseason with the disappointment of not being able to make the most of what was their easiest path to winning a Super Bowl, he did have something else to look forward to.

I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, to becoming a dad. It will be something that I will take with great pride. We’re going to have to figure things out on the go. This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, is being a dad.

Josh Allen told 13WHAM’s Dan Fetes

The four-time Pro Bowler and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, are expecting their first child sometime during this offseason. After they made the information public, fans are waiting for Buffalo’s most famous couple to finally become parents.

It seems that as Allen looks towards fighting for a Super Bowl next season, he and his wife will have their hands full with a tender one at home.
