The Texans meeting the Bills wasn’t any run-of-the-mill AFC game. There were several stories attached to the fixture but none more important than once friends and now rivals Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.
For the first time, these two stalwarts of the game faced each other since Diggs left the coup in Buffalo and moved to Texas in the offseason. For folks who missed the fateful reunion, let’s just say it was a moment to savor for fans, not for either Diggs or Allen.
First of all, there would not have been a reunion because Allen almost ended up in the hospital. Nevertheless, the Pro Bowler remained in the game, which went catastrophically bad as he finished with just 9 completions from 30 attempts for 131 yards, 1 touchdown, and a massive headache.
The Bills Mafia should thank Tyler Bass, their kicker, for keeping them (38 and 33-yard field goals) in the game and James Cook, who carried the ball 20 times and contributed 1 touchdown. Despite their heroics, the game ended 20-23 in the Texans’ favor as veteran kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn smashed one from 59 yards, which was basically the last touch on the football.
Reporters hounded Josh Allen right after the final whistle to capture the moment he came face to face with his old teammate Stefon Diggs, who had a modest six catches for 82 yards on the night. It happened, but the long-awaited encounter happened in a blink of an eye.

Stefon Diggs now has bragging rights over Josh Allen
Everything in football is about bragging rights and banter. Ja’Marr Chase and CJ Gardner-Johnson certainly understand it better than most. After Sunday’s win, the Texans sit atop the AFC South with four victories and one defeat.
It’s music to the Texas faithful, but there’s more to it than a mere win. Diggs felt a sigh of relief.

It doesn’t matter how fans choose to interpret these words. Allen has always denied any animosity between him and Diggs.
It’s onto the next game for both teams. While the Texans travel to Boston and play the New England Patriots, the Bills have a local rivalry to take care of in the Meadowlands with the New York Jets.
