It wasn’t too long ago when NBA player Austin Rivers took a dig at NFL players claiming that there aren’t many potential players who can thrive on the basketball court, while there are plenty of NBA players who can ace the football field. This added fuel to the long-standing fiery NFL-NBA rivalry with a common question of “Which NFL players can play in the NBA?”

Last spring, NBA superstar Paul George gave his perspective on the debate, asserting that NFL players cannot transition to the NBA due to their lack of shooting skills. Recently, at the Buffalo Bills’ return to Orchard Park for organized team activities, the reporters and journalists asked the famous hypothetical question to NFL star quarterback Josh Allen

I think I could give some good minutes, be a 3-and-D guy. I’m going to bust my tail on defense and chuck up a couple shots and pray that they go in. But I’m gonna box out and go get some rebounds. I think I have the tools to do that.
Josh Allen told the reporters

The 6’5 and 237 pounds quarterback further clarified his stance with an impartial response to the NFL-NBA player debate, claiming that there are athletes who can ace both sports at a high level.

Josh Allen seizes offseason to hone leadership skills

Apart from his thoughts on the NBA and NFL rivalry, the Bills’ quarterback also touched on the subject of how this offseason has given him a chance to grow as a leader for his team, at the press conference

It’s an opportunity No. 1 — a chance to grow as a leader. To grow as a teammate and rely on some other guys that maybe haven’t been around but have a lot of experience in the NFL.

The Bills are entering with a relatively new receiving corps in 2024, after parting ways with star wideout Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis earlier in the offseason. This new receiving corps has given quarterback Allen to not repeat what happened to his relationship with former receiver Diggs. That’s why, he has been building a rapport with the new Bills’ players.

The Bills have added the newly drafted rookie Keon Coleman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the veteran names of the active roster such as Curtis Samuel, and Mack Hollins
