The Buffalo Bills’ Californian farmboy and the NFL’s reigning MVP, Josh Allen, bounced back last week after a disappointing offensive showdown in the week before, against the Miami Dolphins. In Week 11, Allen was in a league of his own as he marched his team to a 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Josh Allen threw 19-for-30 for 317 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also rushed six times for 40 yards and three touchdowns. Allen’s six touchdowns helped him surpass former Indianapolis and Denver supremo Peyton Manning (288) in most total touchdowns (290) by a quarterback before turning 30 years of age. He also became the first-ever quarterback in the league with three passing touchdowns as well as rushing touchdowns in a single game multiple times.
Allen’s accolades achieved at Highmark that afternoon don’t end there. He also tied Cam Newton for the most all-time rushing touchdowns in regular season by a quarterback with 75 to his name. He was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week following these numbers, the seventeenth time he has been given this honor. He is currently third in the list for most OPOW awards among active players, behind Aaron Rodgers and Matt Prater.
Despite the laurels, Allen wasn’t completely satisfied with his performance. Allen referenced the slow offensive start as well as the few ill-timed throws during his media availability following Tuesday’s practice.
I didn’t play too well. I don’t think so. Obviously, in the second half we got things rolling…There was just too many throws that I feel like I don’t miss. There’s really no excuse for that. It’s just going out there and, again, trusting the guys and I need to make those plays when the opportunities are there. I’m confident that we can still get things going there.
Josh Allen and the Bills set to avenge the heart-wrenching close loss to the Houston Texans last year
In Week 12, the Buffalo Bills travel to Texas, where they will play the Houston Texans at the NRG Stadium on November 20, 2025, in primetime. The Bills (7-3) will be looking to avenge their last year’s close 23-20 loss to the Texans, where Josh Allen and his men were contained by the stealthy Texans defense.

In his press availability on Tuesday, Allen also touched upon the game from last year. He admitted that the Texans’ defense was a force to reckon with, and he had been beaten up badly that day. He famously completed only nine of his thirty attempts for a paltry 131 yards and a touchdown.
I got beat up that game. Didn’t play well at all. Lot of good stuff to watch from that film, but it’s hard to watch. I played pretty badly. This defense is no easy task to go against.

As the Bills prepare for their thirteenth matchup against the Texans, there’s the bigger picture. The Bills haven’t won against the Texans in Houston since 2006, and they would love nothing better than ending the drought, all while cementing their position in the playoffs. However, it won’t be easy. Allen himself admitted the fact in the press conference, mentioning that their hands are going to be full on Thursday.
The Texans’ defense is once again one of the best in the league. Apart from Matthew Stafford’s Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, no team has been able to put more than 200 passing yards against the Texans. They are ranked first in points (16.3) and yards (258.1) while being third in passing (171), rushing (87.1), and third-down defense (34.4%), fifth in takeaways (16), and 11th in sack percentage (7.0%).
