Caleb Williams’ struggled in his first two games for the Chicago Bears, only managing a 53.1 passer rating and throwing two interceptions and 0 touchdowns. If there’s one player who went through similar circumstances, it’s Josh Allen, who advised the rookie quarterback to keep his head down and work hard.

During the recent segment of FOX’s new show Facility on FS1, Josh Allen spoke with host LeSean McCoy about Caleb Williams’ struggles. The 2x Pro Bowler backed Williams to turn things around in Chicago.

He’s [Caleb Williams] played a lot of big-time games, whether it was at Oklahoma or USC. I think he understands the game. Obviously, the first couple of games in your NFL [career], if they don’t go your way, it doesn’t mean it’s gonna define your career.

Allen lost his first two games in the Buffalo Bills shirt, facing defeats in 7 out of his first 10 career starts. The former first-round pick ended his rookie year with a 5-6 record. Since then, he hasn’t had a losing season.

I think he’s gonna keep working hard, playing football the way he knows how to play the game. He’s gotten to this point this far. He’s a very talented player.

It’s not going to get easy for Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears

Williams’ debut game for the Bears highlighted several key areas in which he needs to focus as the season progresses. Even though the Bears won the game against the Tennessee Titans, Williams only threw for 93 yards with a 48.3% completion rate and a passer rating of 55.7. These aren’t exactly the numbers one expects from the first overall pick in the draft.

There were slight improvements in week 2, throwing for 174 yards with a 62.2% completion rate, but it counted little to change the outcome of the game as the Bears lost 13-19 to the Houston Texans. Williams looked visually annoyed during the post-match, stirring up further controversy.

Up Next, Matt Eberflus’ side will face the Indianapolis Colts, who lost both of their opening two fixtures against the Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers. However, the Bears will play without veteran Keenan Allen; according to Ian Rapoport, the wide receiver has a problem with his heel.

Historically, the Bears have dominated the fixture, winning 6 of their last 10 meetings. However, the Colts won the last two times these sides played against each other, and they are slight favorites once more, as per NBC Sports.
