Ahead of the NFL’s Week 17 festivities, it was evident that the AFC crown was still open to anyone wanting to grab it. Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills were in position to do so, as they were sitting pretty with an 11-4 record.
That record meant they would still need the help of some of their fellow conference opponents, but even then, the Bills had to do their part when they welcomed the Philadelphia Eagles. The defending champions had already cemented their division win, which meant the home team could have taken advantage of any lack of focus.
Unfortunately for the Bills, it was the Eagles who took the lead in the first half and kept it that way while stopping Josh Allen and his offensive unit from doing anything meaningful in the first three quarters.
Then, the reigning league MVP decided to take it upon himself and ran for a touchdown to cut the deficit. A drive later, Josh Allen ran in for his second touchdown, this time mimicking their opponent’s famous ‘Tush Push’ to score.
However, they still needed two points to win, as the Eagles had blocked their extra point after Allen’s first score. After the ball was snapped, the away team sent a blitz at the four-time Pro Bowler, which forced the QB to drop back.

Once he found a footing, he threw the ball towards Khalil Shakir. But the ball was a bit ahead of where the receiver was, ending the Bills’ chances of completing their comeback.
Fans troll Josh Allen after failing to connect on game-winning throw
Football fans were already annoyed with the fact that Josh Allen, for all his accolades, could not find a way to score in the first three quarters. Then, for him to miss Khalil Shakir by a yard sent them raging on social media.
Fans believe this was further proof that the Bills QB is a certified choker, especially when it matters. Check out examples of those frustrated reactions below:
Josh Allen what a choke job lmaoo

It wasn’t the eagles saying no. It was a horrible pass by Allen.

Missed a wide open receiver. Did it multiple times, missed seeing other wide open receivers. Dude has to play so much better lmao James Cook carries that offense

Josh Allen overthrowing a wide-open receiver in the clutch? I’m shocked. Truly. This is brand new information that definitely hasn't happened in every major game since 2020

Had a linebacker covering a wide receiver and still couldn’t get it to him. And this is someone’s MVP? LMAOOOOOO

With their Kryptonite, the Kansas City Chiefs, out of playoff contention, Josh Allen has the best chance to lead his Buffalo Bills to their first-ever Super Bowl. To do that, however, he needs to come up with clutch plays when it matters. Otherwise, they will continue to be labeled as nothing more than a regular-season team.
Moreover, the recently married signal caller will continue to be haunted by the fact that not only has he not been able to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles, but he has yet to fulfill the promise he has seemingly given to the people of Buffalo, New York.
Tom Brady had some choice words to describe Josh Allen’s body
Other than the late two-point attempt miss, Josh Allen did what he could with the game on the line. In the fourth quarter, after rushing in for the Bills’ first touchdown, the QB was staring at a similar situation with just 8 seconds left on the clock.

Let your 250-pound ‘Big Booty’ quarterback try to sneak his way in there.
Tom Brady said on the broadcast

“Let your 250 pound big body quarterback get in” 😭
Josh Allen did indeed score on the tush push. pic.twitter.com/gNx1Y1NZcG
This was quite the description from arguably the greatest to play the game. As someone who never truly used his legs to score, his words seemed as if he was admiring what the big-bodied Allen could do with his physique.
