For the Buffalo Bills, this season was supposed to be different. Their first year without their star receiver Stefon Diggs and the key role players of the team were traded by the team. There were a lot of questions on how Josh Allen would be able to manage. The quarterback put an end to the doubts early on in the season, having one of his most dominant regular seasons ever. With an MVP-caliber season, there was just one thing that he needed to do. Beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The dreaded Chiefs have been his kryptonite and it always comes down to the wire when these two go head-to-head. Despite Allen’s best efforts, he fell short yet again making him winless against Mahomes in the playoffs. While some may argue that Patrick Mahomes got a favorable outcome due to the officiating, one man believes the three-time Super Bowl champion won because of his head coach Andy Reid.
Veteran analyst Nick Wright shared his two cents on the success of Mahomes over Allen in the playoffs on The Colin Cowherd Podcast. He believes that if the latter had Andy Reid calling plays for him, then he would have won at least one Super Bowl by now.

To him, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes are a dream pair that have their own set of strengths which when combined result in success.
Nick Wright hails Patrick Mahomes as a generational athlete
The analyst brought up some stats of the Chiefs’ quarterback that are quite frankly, hard to believe. He has more playoff wins when his defense gives up 29 or more points than any other quarterback in league history. Wright further went on to bring up last year’s divisional round game between these two teams. Josh Allen was able to muster up 40 yards but failed to put the Bills in a position to score points.
This year as well, the potential MVP candidate had 3.5 minutes left on the board to get his offense to score. However, Josh Allen could not close the game. In fairness, had Dalton Kincaid caught the ball, maybe the outcome would have been different but that will be a ‘What if’ that will live on in Allen’s head until the next season commences.
While it would be interesting to see if Josh Allen could fare better under Andy Reid, it is something that will be possible to do only Madden NFL. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid’s chemistry is special. He is in a better situation than Josh Allen and while Mahomes has been immensely successful in Kansas City. It is hard to say with complete confidence that he would be able to fill the three-time Super Bowl winner’s shoes.
