Josh Allen finds a way to win games, a narrative that continues to catch momentum. Allen looked knee-deep in muddy waters after taking 8 sacks against the Houston Texans. His performance improved a week later against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Two total touchdowns (one passing and one rushing), 123 yards, and 1 interception weren’t anything special, but it was enough to shut out the AFC North franchise.
It all built up to an epic showdown with a rival Allen had failed to defeat in their two previous encounters. Joe Burrow led his Bengals into Highmark Stadium with the sole purpose of mustering a late push for the playoffs. The Bengals looked like a team possessed during Burrow’s first game back from injury, handing the Ravens a 32-14 loss last week. Burrow threw two touchdowns and looked ready to overcome the challenge from the Bills.
According to StatMuse, Burrow boasted a 65% completion and 4 touchdowns against Allen and the Bills. He threw 4 on Sunday but at the same time turned the ball over twice on back-to-back plays, which led to a pick-6.
Allen, meanwhile, threw 3 touchdown passes to Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and Jackson Hawes. The veteran Pro Bowl quarterback also rushed for a score on the ground in the fourth quarter to complete his TD haul. According to the Bills PR, this was Josh Allen’s 50th career game with 1+ passing and 1+ rushing TDs.
With that 40 yard rushing touchdown, Josh Allen has now recorded his 50th career game with 1+ passing & 1+ rushing TDs, extending his NFL record.

The 29-year-old took advantage of the Bengals’ lackluster defense. He swiftly escaped defensive end Cedric Johnson and logged a 40-yard housecall. It set the record for longest touchdown run by a Bills player in team history and helped the team tie its record for rushing touchdowns of 40 or more yards in a season with three.
Never a doubt… That was obviously a really tough game.
Josh Allen said after the game
Allen ended Week 14 with 22 completions from 28 pass attempts for 251 yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 9 carries for 78 yards and one score. He finished with a quarterback rating of 149.67 and season’s best passer rating of 139.7.

Josh Allen continues to rewrite the history books
Allen became the NFL MVP in 2024 over Lamar Jackson and faced his fair share of criticism for it. He sat out to prove the narrative wrong, which he has admirably done in 2025.

As a matter of fact, with Sunday’s win, Allen has now defeated his three biggest rivals: Burrow, Jackson, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes in just a few weeks.

Allen improved his tally to 265 completions for 3083 yards (70.1%), 22 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions along with 487 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. FOX Sports tweeted that Allen became the first quarterback in NFL history to secure 20+ passing TDs and 10+ rushing TDs in three consecutive seasons.

The 9-4 Bills currently occupy the fifth seed in the AFC. Next week, they take on the 11-2 New England Patriots, who haven’t lost a game since Week 3.
