Whenever football fans talk about the possibility of Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills winning a Super Bowl, they take into consideration that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have always been a stumbling block.
The Bills have managed to find ways to defeat the Chiefs in the regular season, as was evident from last year’s epic Week 11 showdown in front of their Bills Mafia.
But when they go to battle in the playoffs, it is always their opponents who seem to have the measure of them. Last season’s defeat led to some questioning if Allen and his team would ever get past the Chiefs.
Even though he won the league MVP award last season’s loss in the AFC Championship game had some believing the Bills need to do a lot more if they are to try to win their first Super Bowl. This season, that situation seems to have changed.
Josh Allen’s kryptonite may not even have an opportunity to impact him, and that’s been Patrick Mahomes.
Cam Newton said on First Take
The former league MVP believes there was always a ‘what if’ whenever the two teams were spoken of in the same breath. This time, with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs struggling to win games that they usually have no problem with, they have dropped the ladder.

If these struggles continue, the Super Bowl LVIII champions might not make it to the postseason. That will give Josh Allen and his team their easiest run to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Dan Orlovsky believes Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs’ dynasty is over
As Cam Newton focused on how Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills can pounce on this opportunity, his colleague, Dan Orlovsky, shifted the discussion to how Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs might have to build a new dynasty.

The Chiefs’ dynasty is over. We’ve watched this dynasty slowly become over for the last 2 years.
Dan Orlovsky said
The former QB pointed out that over the past couple of years, the team had been in a decline, but their wins masked the concerns. Since then, he believes the Chiefs have not fixed those concerns, and now, they are showing their ugly side.

If the franchise wants another dynastic run, Dan Orlovsky believes the personnel will look a lot different. Naturally, Travis Kelce‘s future looks bleak, especially with his aberration of a performance in their loss to the Houston Texans.
Another former MVP QB points out the Chiefs’ biggest hurdle
Debates about the decline of Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs have engulfed sports media. Kay Adams specifically asked former QB Matt Ryan about the team’s receiving core, which seems to be struggling of late.
When the physical mistakes happen over and over again, you no longer are gonna be there, that’s just the nature of how the league works… I have not liked how we are catching the football.
Matt Ryan replied on Up & Adams
The former league MVP reiterated that Mahomes was ecstatic about his receiving core at the start of the season. However, explosiveness and physical attributes are not enough, especially when he noticed they are not doing the little things right.

Ryan also reiterated that had it been a mental aspect, he could have understood it, as many pro athletes go through a down phase. However, with the Chiefs, he believes it is their lack of physical coordination.
The former Falcons star threw caution to those wideouts, reminding them that physical mistakes are not forgotten, and could cost them a job even though they might have been good before.
