Josh Hart believes Knicks with Julius Randle would’ve made for ‘best playoff series’ against Boston Celtics
Josh Hart made a bold statement regarding the Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks matchup.
Josh Hart and Julius Randle
The New York Knicks’ star duo Josh Hart and good friend Jalen Brunson discussed an important topic on their podcast. It involves their teammate Julius Randle, who nursed through multiple injuries throughout the season. The Knicks would have benefitted with Randle on the pitch come playoff time. It might have elevated them above the Indiana Pacers to set up an ECF matchup against the Boston Celtics.
The Knicks went till the second round of the playoffs despite losing players to injuries. With the Boston Celtics winning the championship, everyone has wondered about the next biggest threat. As such, Hart claimed the Knicks would have given the Celtics a tough fight alongside Randle. The Knicks guard even claimed it would have been the ‘best series’ in playoffs.
Our Philly series is probably one of the best if not the best series of the playoffs. I feel like if we were healthy and if we got to play Boston that would have been like, that probably would have been the best series in the playoffs. I feel like that goes 6 or 7. I'm not going to be like who'll win but yeah I don't know but that would be a competitive 6 or 7 games.Josh Hart via Roommates Show
Despite losing in the second round, the future looks optimistic for the Knicks. Jalen Brunson continues to develop into a superstar and has a good supporting cast around him. The team will be hoping that all their players remain fit and healthy throughout the 2024-25 NBA season.
One could argue that the Knicks could well and truly go all the way if all their players are fit for the whole season. Hart’s comment only indicates the importance that Randle holds to the team. As such, the team will aim for the best possible result next season.
Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson left bamboozled with Mikal Bridges’ trade news
The New York Knicks recently acquired Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets in a trade deal that garnered attention from the Knicks star duo Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. The team appears to have all the pieces to make a deep playoff run.
Notably, Brunson and Hart on the Roommates Show podcast claimed that they were shocked after the news of Bridges getting traded to the Knicks broke out. Brunson spoke about the relationship between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets to reveal his shock.
I never thought it would happen. When was the last time the Nets made a trade with the Knicks?”Jalen Brunson via Roommates Show
Hart also chimed in with the admission of never thinking it would happen. It’s interesting to note that Brunson, Bridges, Hart, and fellow Knick Donte DiVincenzo were all members of Villanova’s national championship-winning team in 2015-16. However, Bridges and DiVincenzo were mostly bench players. Now, fast-forwarding to 2024, all four stars will play on the same team, but this time in the NBA.
