Josh Hart vouches for ‘annoying’ TJ McConnell’s long-term extension with Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers’ T.J. McConnell has been making the headlines lately after his top-notch performances for the Pacers this 2023-24 NBA season. McConnell and his agents have been negotiating with the Pacers over a new contract, which would see McConnell’s stay extended at the Pacers, hopefully ending his career with the Pacers.
Josh Hart, a star with the New York Knicks, responded to the news by making a playful joke at McConnell on his X account. Hart would know McConell’s game play the best as he watched his side get dominated by the Pacers and McConnell in the 7-game series in the NBA Playoffs this 2023-24 NBA season.

In addition, McConnell greatly aided the Pacers’ journey to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2023-24 NBA season.
With an average of 11.9 points, 6 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in the second round of the seven-game series, McConnell was a key player in the team’s victory over the Knicks. Hart and McConnell traded shots throughout the whole series. Based on NBA.com’s Matchups tracker, each player shot better than 50% against each other when playing one-on-one.
It remains to be seen whether or not McConnell and the Pacers agree in the coming days/weeks regarding his contract. Also, with McConnell’s approaching contract agreement, the Pacers will be one team to keep an eye on regarding the next 2024-25 NBA season.

The New York Knicks were defeated by the Indiana Pacers 109-130 in Game 7 of the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs. The Pacers defeated the Knicks under the attacking leadership of superstar Tyrese Haliburton and super sub-T.J. McConnell, advancing the team to its first Eastern Conference finals in ten years. In addition, many Knicks’ important players were injured in this crucial matchup.
Following their Eastern Conference semi-final loss to the Indiana Pacers, Jalen Brunson and Hart took some time to express their gratitude to their supporters. Even though they were both hurt, they didn’t hesitate to give Knicks supporters something to celebrate.
