“You are dead to me” – Josh Hart has WILD reaction to Isaiah Hartenstein leaving Knicks for $87 million trade to OKC

Josh Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein will be opponents next season

Josh Hart had a humorous and lighthearted response to his former teammate Isaiah Hartenstein leaving the New York Knicks for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hartenstein recently agreed to a three-year, $87 million deal with the Thunder.

Hartenstein’s departure from the Knicks was expected, but it still marks a significant loss for the team. The 26-year-old center was a key contributor last season, starting 49 games and averaging 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. Given all that, Hart’s reaction still came a little bizarre.

You are dead to me Zay. I never liked you anyways. But congrats on the bag!

Despite the loss, the Knicks still have a talented roster with Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Hart, new arrival Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby. However, they will need to address their lack of interior depth, with Mitchell Robinson and Jericho Sims as their only established centers.

Hartenstein, on the other hand, joins a strong core in Oklahoma, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Alex Caruso, Lu Dort, and Isaiah Joe. The Thunder had the best record in the Western Conference last season, and Hartenstein’s addition could make them an even more formidable opponent next season.

Isaiah Hartenstein signs $87 million deal with Oklahoma City Thunder

Isaiah Hartenstein has signed a three-year, $87 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski. Hartenstein spent the past two seasons with the New York Knicks and will now take his A-game to Oklahoma.

Hartenstein’s breakout season this year made him a valuable asset, and the Thunder swooped in to sign him. The move addresses Oklahoma City’s need for size in the paint, as they averaged the second-fewest total rebounds per game among playoff teams last season. Hartenstein’s offensive rebounding skills will create more scoring opportunities for the team.

The Thunder have made significant moves this offseason, including trading for Alex Caruso and signing Hartenstein. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren already on the roster, the Thunder are building a deep team that can compete in the loaded Western Conference.
