This offseason, Josh Jacobs parted ways with the Las Vegas Raiders as he joined one of his teammates Davante Adams’ former team, the Green Bay Packers. But it turns out Jacobs had planned to take Adams with him to the Packers, amidst the trade rumors.
There had been a handful of rumors about the Raiders star receiver Adams seeking a trade request but he set the record straight in April when he asserted that he does not wish to leave the Raiders, especially since the change in the coaching staff. He also said if he wanted to play anywhere else, he would have gone by now.
But Jacobs had hoped to not lose Adams as his teammate and that’s why he approached him to make sure the star wideout wasn’t thinking of returning to the team where his NFL journey began. The reason for this was that after joining the Packers, the star running back realized the dynamic receiving corps and could have become unbeatable with Adams’ addition.

Jacobs also shared why he approached the five-time Pro Bowler with this saying the best thing that happened to him at the Raiders was when Adams joined the team. From thereon, he saw the wideout “be great” daily and that’s why, if there was any chance to get him back as a teammate, Jacobs was inclined to try it.
Davante Adams focused on future with Raiders
If Adams had agreed, it would have been a trade deal between the Raiders and the Packers. But that’s a hypothetical scenario, which is nowhere going inside the receiver’s mind. Previously he declared no intention to leave Las Vegas, and he had also said that he does not regret leaving Green Bay.
But he did applaud the Packers’ quarterback Jordan Love, who led his team straight to the playoff divisional game in his first year as a starter. He had also been praised all across the league for his performance last season.
Adams even told Love that if there was a way to bring the quarterback to the Raiders, he wouldn’t waste a second in making it work.
