The Green Bay Packers secured a playoff berth with a commanding victory over the New Orleans Saints, cementing their status as postseason contenders. RB Josh Jacobs took advantage of the terrific news and the holiday cheer to show his appreciation for the Packers’ offensive line.

In the long history of the NFL, it is a time-honored tradition for quarterbacks and running backs to shower the unsung heroes. Josh Jacobs, who joined the Packers in the offseason on a four-year, $48 million-deal during the offseason, carried on this custom spectacularly.

Josh Jacobs has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence this season. In his past year with the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive line, to put it lightly, Jacobs had a very dismal performance throughout the 2022 campaign. He averaged a career-low 3.5 yards per carry last year. In 2024, Jacobs averages 4.4 yards per carry. Through 15 games, he has amassed 1,216 rushing yards and a career-high 13 rushing touchdowns, along with 35 receptions for 340 yards and a receiving touchdown.

The numbers mirror his standout 2022 Pro Bowl season when he led the league with 1,653 rushing yards and scored 12 touchdowns. Notably, he has already surpassed his career-best for rushing touchdowns this year, with two regular-season games remaining. Jacobs’ resurgence has solidified his status as one of the NFL’s elite dual-threat running backs. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in driving the Packers’ offensive success.

In the new franchise, Josh Jacobs could also get his first playoff win in as well. The Packers made postseason as the third NFC North team, Jacobs making his Packers postseason debut in his first season itself. In the five years Jacobs spent in Las Vegas, he made the trip to the postseason just once.

What were some of the OL gifts by NFL QBs and RBs this holiday season?

Three-time Super Bowl winning champion Patrick Mahomes was one of the firsts to kickstart the tradition this year. Mahomes spent a fortune and gifted his entire o-line gift packages placed on their respective locker rooms at Arrowhead Stadium. Each player received a Chiefs-red Yeti Tundra Haul cooler packed with luxury gifts, including Rolex watches, Lucchese leather cowboy boots, Oakley sunglasses, WHOOP bands, and items from Adidas’ Black Y-3 collection. Some teammates also received Louis Vuitton luggage, adding to the extravagance.

Meanwhile, Brock Purdy took a step further in choosing the gifts. Purdy surprised his teammates with 10 Toyota trucks. Purdy has been long associated with Toyota including advertisement deals and sponsorships. Joe Burrow was quite the sensible gift-giver.

The Bengals QB gifted all of his linemen Japanese katana swords. Burrow admitted that his teammates requested the player water guns, which he thought wouldn’t be cool.

While Burrow aimed to be cool, Russell Wilson was all about no expenses asked. He gifted each player a $10,000 Airbnb gift card, a Black and Gold Louis Vuitton duffle bag, a bottle of his wife Ciara‘s Ten To One Rum, and custom Steelers-themed shoes from his Good Man Brand collection. Even rookie Jayden Daniels splurged to get his teammates electric scooters to increase their power of mobility and provide ease.
