FOX Sports analyst crowns Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes as “The Best Player in the World” instead of MVP favorite Ravens Lamar Jackson
Joy Taylor doesn't believe Lamar Jackson is the best football player in the world because Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes exists.

Patrick Mahomes hasn’t had the best season in 2024 considering his extremely high standards. At one point in time, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback conceded more interceptions compared to touchdowns. He was unable to connect with either his receivers or his star tight-end friend, Travis Kelce.
On the other hand, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is on the path to another NFL MVP. After losing the first game of the season to the Chiefs, the Ravens lost just once more but won seven games—sit second in the AFC North and are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Jackson has 2669 passing yards (3rd in the league), 24 touchdowns (2nd in the league), 2 interceptions (43rd in the league among active quarterbacks), along with 91 carries for 538 rushing yards and a couple of scores. Pro Football Focus gave him the highest grade of 92.5 after the Ravens’ latest win over the Bengals, in which he threw four touchdowns.
Despite the dominating nature of his play, FOX Sports 1 analyst Joy Taylor refused to crown Jackson as the best player in the world. Taylor agreed Lamar is having an MVP-level season, but it’s nothing new because Jackson also won the regular season’s Best Player in 2023 but was knocked out in the AFC Championship game by the Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes.
The Chiefs, unlike the Ravens, are 8-0 and have a 14-game active winning streak dating back to Christmas 2023.

Joy Taylor explains why she believes Patrick Mahomes is the ‘best’
29-year-old Mahomes, in arguably his most underwhelming campaign so far, has completed 1942 passing yards (14th best), 11 touchdowns (10th), and 9 interceptions (76th). However, he has played without a designated No. 1 wide receiver. Despite the challenges, the Chiefs occupy the top seed in the AFC and remain favorites for the three-peat.
Taylor argued that all of this is possible because the Chiefs quarterback is Mahomes. She wouldn’t trust any other quarterback to lead their team to an unbeaten start with such handicaps.
Jackson is on the path to another league MVP title. According to FOX Sports and other NFL Odds, Jackson is +280 to win, while Mahomes is third with +400, just behind the Bills QB Josh Allen with +300.
