USA basketball has managed to form one of the strongest teams in the history of basketball. The stacked Team USA has a combination of young NBA stars and veterans like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. But the team has still got some scares against South Sudan and Germany in the friendly games.

The USA currently has a flawless streak of 5-0 till now but still the team hasn’t looked as perfect as it should. It is missing one of its main pieces and the highest scorer for USA basketball, i.e. Kevin Durant.

The Phoenix Suns star is currently out due to a calf strain and will be returning to action soon. He suffered the injury during the Team USA training camp.

In the recent press conference, team’s head coach Steve Kerr was asked about Kevin Durant and his replacement from the team. Jrue Holiday, who was present alongside his coach couldn’t help himself pitching in between for this surprising question from the reporter.

That's Kevin Durant, my boy. What are we talking about? That's KD. He needs to be out there.
Jrue Holiday said

Even at the age of 35 Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists in his last season with the Phoenix Suns. He is still going strong in the back end of his prime and is one of the important pieces of the current Team USA, reiterated by Holiday.

Without a doubt, once Durant gets healthy he will be joining the USA in its quest for this Olympics. Durant already has three Olympic gold medals under his name and will be aiming to win his fourth.

Kevin Durant expected to return soon for USA

Team USA are the heavy favorites entering the 2024 Paris Olympics. But recently USA has had some shaky performances in the games. They came out on top after two close games against South Sudan and Germany.
