Celtics star man Jrue Holiday had a hilarious reaction to a reporter's question in a recent post-match press conference.
Jrue Holiday
The Boston Celtics dominated the Toronto Raptors in a home matinee on New Year’s Eve, defeating them 125-71. They have played top-notch basketball, with star player Jayson Tatum leading them in attack this season. Despite all this, it was Celtics defender Jrue Holiday who stole all the headlines recently. He returned to the roster after missing three games due to injury.
Holiday’s reaction to a female reporter’s NSFW question has been making the rounds online. The reporter asked him, “Coach Mazzulla says he wants this defense to be a little more active… Getting your hands on balls…” To this, Holiday had a stunned reaction as he quickly popped his eyes on live TV. It was kind of a hilarious moment between the reporter and the Celtics star man.
Kristaps Porzingis, the center, missed another game due to a sprained left ankle, but none of Boston’s top seven healthy players did. Holiday and others performed for at least half an hour. Celtics was led by All-NBA power forward Jayson Tatum, who scored 23 points on 6-of-13 field goals (4-of-9 from beyond the arc) and 7-of-11 foul line shots, in addition to eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Boston’s clamp-down approach was in full swing now that Holiday was back. The Celtics held Toronto to only 10-of-40 3-point shooting (25 percent) and 27-of-86 shooting (31.4 percent) from the field. The Celtics hit 22-of-43 from outside the arc (51.2 percent) and 47-of-87 from the floor (54 percent) after making only 38 percent of their field goals in the first half of the game.

Using a barrage of 3-pointers, the Celtics outscored the Raptors 45-18 in the third quarter to win the game and end 2024 in a landslide. During the period, the Celtics made 10 out of 12 attempts from beyond the arc. Celtics shot 74% throughout that time, with Tatum making four 3-pointers and Jrue Holiday and Sam Hauser each making two.
Holiday finished with 14 points despite missing three games due to a right shoulder ailment. Hauser finished with 12 points, Derrick White had 16, and Payton Pritchard had 19. In the victory, Jaylen Brown contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds.
On the other hand, Raptors’ top scorer, Scottie Barnes, finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Raptors finished 2-11 in December, with Jakob Poeltl pulling down 13 rebounds. Only time will tell if they can salvage this season.
