Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz has won four Grand Slam titles at the tender age of 21. He has been dubbed as the most complete youngster by many, a claim that has been strengthened by the fact that he has won a Major on all three surfaces already. Despite playing most of his formative years on clay, Alcaraz is shown that he can be just as good on hard courts and grass courts.

The Spaniard’s back-to-back Wimbledon title wins are proof of that. In both finals, he defeated Novak Djokovic, a player who has won the most Grand Slam titles in men’s tennis history and has seven titles to his name at the grass Major.

While the Wimbledon final in 2023 was a hard-fought five-set affair, Alcaraz beat the Serbian comprehensively this year. That dominant performance further elevated the Spaniard’s stature in the tennis world. However, despite all these qualities and achievements, his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero believes that there is a need for improvement.

Juan Carlos Ferrero wants Carlos Alcaraz to become better and better

Juan Carlos Ferrero highlighted that while there will be a lot of praise for Carlos Alcaraz for winning four Grand Slam titles at such a young age, the coaching team cannot stop working on the areas that need improvement. The 2003 French Open champion is determined to make his compatriot capable of winning every tournament he plays in.

Obviously, winning four Grand Slam tournaments so young creates reactions, people talk a lot, but we have to try to stay calm and work well so that it continues to give joy. The growth must be there, we must continue. I think that at 21 you can't stop growing. We must continue to grow and move forward, to have the illusion and the motivation of winning each tournament in which we participate.

Alcaraz scripted history at the All-England Club when he beat Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4) in the 2024 Wimbledon final. He became only the ninth man in the Open Era to successfully defend his title at the Championships. He also became only the sixth man to win both Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year.
