Carlos Alcaraz won his third Grand Slam last Sunday by winning the 2024 French Open. Despite returning from a shoulder injury and not being at his best, the Spaniard beat everyone on tour.

However, while the 21-year-old deserves all the praise, some credit surely must be given to his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, who picked up a youngster and converted him into a Grand Slam winner and possibly the future of tennis. Ferrero, a former World No.1 himself, has been coaching Alcaraz since 2018 and revealed that his player has not yet reached his full potential and is looking to improve.

We need him to have a more stable game so that he can close the games sooner. I believe that he has not yet reached his maximum level, far from it. He can progress in many things, but the fundamental thing is that mental consistency that allows him to play at a very high level for a long time
Juan Carlos Ferrero said in a recent interview via L’Equipe

Even many tennis experts have agreed that the Spaniard did not bring his best at the French Open and needed to reduce some fancy shots to last longer in tennis. Despite this, Alcaraz has become the second youngest French Open winner and heads to the grass courts to prepare for the next Grand Slam.

And right now lifting the Roland Garros trophy knowing everything that I've been through the last month with the injuries and all that stuff. I don't know probably this one is the moment that I really proud about myself.
