The stage is all set for the men’s singles final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will be up against each other at the Court Philippe-Chatrier, fighting for the gold medal.

It is the first time in an Olympic final for both players which makes the match even more interesting. While Djokovic has not been able to win a gold medal in four attempts, Alcaraz is fighting for in the first attempt.

The Spaniard has been in stellar form this season, winning two of the three Grand Slam tournaments played so far. Alcaraz also competed in the doubles at the Games, alongside Rafael Nadal, and reached the quarterfinals. While the duo could not go further, they impressed everyone with their performance. Moreover, Alcaraz carried on with the confidence in singles event.

He is into the finals and will be up against Djokovic. Alcaraz’s chances of winning the match are high considering how he has played on clay this season. Moreover, the 21-year-old is set to get a massive boost as his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero is set to return for the final.

David Ferrer confirms Juan Carlos Ferrero’s availability for final

Spain’s tennis team captain David Ferrer has confirmed that Juan Carlos Ferrero will be back for the gold medal match on Sunday. When Ferrer was asked if the team would change anything before the final, the Spanish tennis team captain stated that the team would stick with the routine.

He further talked about the added advantage Carlos Alcaraz will have as Carlos Ferrero is set to return to the Stage Roland Garros to assist the young Spaniard. Notably, Ferrero was not available for the Games but seemed to have found a way to come and help Alcaraz.

We will not change the routines we have been following. We will warm up together, and his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero will also be there, so that is an added incentive and good for everyone.

Notably, the gold medal match for the men’s singles event will be held around 2 PM (local time) on Sunday. This will be the seventh meeting between the two players. Both have won three each so far.
