New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto has not lost hope for a World Series game. Following heartbreaking losses at Game 1 and Game 2, the Yankees will now move to NY for Game 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Currently, the Dodgers are leading the series with 2-0 in the best-of-seven-series. Game 3 is scheduled on Monday and it’ll be crucial for the pinstripes to win if they want to continue the series on the big stage. Things haven’t fared well for the Yankees so far.
Unfortunately, NY Yankees captain Aaron Judge failed to meet expectations in Game 2 as they ended up losing 2-4. Judge himself knows all too well what Monday night’s game will mean, commenting, “Especially with what Gleyber and Juan are doing at the top of the lineup, I gotta back them up.”
Soto is also confident in the team, saying they’ve already gone through a lot during the regular season and the playoffs to give up easily in the World Series. “We just keep battling, keep going,” Soto said. He was also the key player in Game 2 who literally carried the team.
"It's not easy to play in front of 40,000 fans against you. It's not only the team, you've got to go against those 45, 50,000 people that are against you."

Soto further added that it’s sometimes difficult to play in front of 50,000 people “that are against you”, and it’ll get better if they can get a rebound at the Yankees Stadium. With their fan base supporting him, he feels things will be better.
Former NY Yankees Alex Rodriguez also commented on the Game 2 loss saying how they should switch Juan Soto and Aaron Judge’s batting order to “try to activate and jump-start Judge a little bit.” He added,
The Yankees last played in a World Series back in 2009. It’s been 43 years since they played against the LA Dodgers in the Fall Classic. The NY fans are upset to see the team making mistakes and costing the game. However, if Judge can come out of his slump, the team will regain its offensive power.
NY Yankees players comment on the ongoing situation after Game 2 loss
Former pitcher Randy Johnson gave a prediction on the 2024 World Series, and it might just come true. He said that it’ll be a close game between the two teams, but “I think the Dodgers will inevitably win.” His prediction might just come true after the NY Yankees lost two games in the Fall Classic.
To make sure Johnson’s predictions don’t come true, the pinstripes will have to be their best selves on Monday. Anthony Rizzo frankly said that although the “odds are against you”, Game 3 “absolutely is a must-win” since they’ll be playing at their home stadium in NY.
Juan Soto said that it’s unfortunate how “one pitch literally just changed the thing” in Game 1, although the Yankees were dominating the earlier innings. Nestor Cortes’ pitching in the 10th and manager Aaron Boone’s wrong call changed the game.

Unfortunately, LA Dodgers Shohei Ohtani got injured in Saturday’s game, and his presence on Monday is questionable. Following a diagnosis of his left shoulder, manager Dave Roberts will give further updates. The game is heading into the NY field, with the Dodgers holding a 2-0 lead in the World Series.
