Juan Soto is ready to hit it off hard in Spring Training much to the New York Mets fan’s satisfaction. Since the historic 15-year $765 million deal in the offseason, the baseball world has been keeping an eye on Soto to see him officially starting off his journey with his new team.

Much to the fan’s celebration, Soto arrived at the team’s facility in Port St. Lucie where he joined his teammates for the Spring Training camp. During the press conference, he was asked who is the player he is most excited to play with and the outfielder didn’t mince his words in reply.

Juan Soto named Pete Alonso as the person he’s the most excited to play with although the team has a “great group of guys in here.” The 26-year-old will be joining the NY Mets’ star-studded lineup consisting of Francisco Lindor, Francisco Alvarez, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, and Alonso among others.

Regardless, Soto is “excited to spend” the next 15 years with the team and with this group of star players in the lineup. He also talked about what it is like to deal with the game pressure and hatred following his comment on NY being the Mets town.

Soto said there is only one way to silence the haters and lower the pressure, it is “winning games.” At the end of the day the regular season and postseason performance will determine who performed the best in MLB for the 2025 game.

Manager Carlos Mendoza comments on Juan Soto’s official start of 15-year journey

New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza recently commented on what he feels Juan Soto can bring to the table following his record-breaking 15-year $765 million deal. He said that it’ll be “electric” and “exciting” knowing how strong the team’s lineup is for the 2025 season.

Last year Soto was one of the key players who helped the New York Yankees reach the World Series. However, the team lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games and Soto ended up joining the rival team in the offseason.

It’ll be electric. Looking back how Citi Field was in September, and definitely in October, that’s an unbelievable feeling…I had some conversations with him, but I’m looking forward to those everyday interactions in just kind of what makes him tick.

Mendoza said it’ll take time to get to know Juan Soto but “that’s what spring training’s all about”. He is confident that by the time the team gets to Houston, they’ll have a clearer picture of the entire roster and the player’s improvement.
