Following superstar outfielder Juan Soto’s mega-deal signing, there were several reports stating how the Yankees’ treatment of his family made him join the rival New York Mets. The reports suggested one of his parents was removed from an area in the stadium in April or May.
They even said that his driver and cook were denied entry into the stadium later in the year, and they had to stand in the rain. These incidents apparently had a negative impression on Soto, who eventually ended up taking the Mets’ 15-year $765 million deal.
However, in a recent interview, Juan Soto denied the claims, saying the New York Yankees are a “1A” organization and such an incident never took place. Furthermore, he said that he had an amazing experience with them in 2024 and still loves the Bronx fans.
That’s a lie.

Soto was one of the Bronx favorites as he, along with Aaron Judge, recorded a spectacular run in the regular season followed by the team’s World Series advancement. Soto undoubtedly carried the team throughout 2024 and is now ready to open a new chapter with the cross-town rivals.
Juan Soto has not spoken with former teammates since free agency
Juan Soto became MLB’s largest contract holder after signing his $765 million contract. During the press conference, he was asked whether he had reached out to any of his former teammates or not during the free agency.

Soto admitted that he wanted privacy and had changed his number to avoid getting caught up in the noise. He said he’d want to stay in touch with his former Yankees teammates, especially Aaron Judge.
The Judge-Soto duo was widely favored by many in baseball as he created and broke records in the league. However, 2024 was the last the Bronx Bombers got to see the power-pack duo as Soto ended up joining the NY Mets.

While they are currently not in touch, Soto wants to continue holding onto the friendships he formed during his time there. Former MLBer A.J. Pierzynski commented how Soto could have just said he wanted more money, the Mets gave him that and he moved on, instead of going the “new phone, who dis?” route.
He further added that if it was him instead of Soto, he’d text his friends and teammates to let them know of his new number. Unfortunately, not only Pierzynski, but many found it weird how both sides weren’t in touch for so long.

Regardless, fans might get further clarity on the situation if Soto has reached out to Judge after his signing. However, as of now, there’s no news of them texting or calling each other.
