English star Jude Bellingham lauded fellow teammate Bukayo Saka on social media, for scoring a penalty against Switzerland, that propelled England to the Euros semi-final. Saka completed his redemption, after failing to score from a similar position during the 2020 Euro final.

The Arsenal star was England’s hero in the quarter-finals, leveling the score against Switzerland with a stunning strike from outside the box. He was also one of the five players to step up for Gareth Southgate‘s side during the penalty shootout, successfully converting his spot-kick. Meanwhile, Manuel Akanji missed his penalty, resulting in a 5-3 score in favor of the Three Lions, securing their place in the semi-finals.

The 22-year-old redeemed himself for his missed penalty in the Euro 2020 final against Italy by scoring the crucial equalizer and the winning penalty. He overcame the online abuse he received after his 2020 miss, while becoming a key player for England. Jude Bellingham praised the Arsenal star for his performance and courage. On Instagram, the Real Madrid player shared a story of Saka with the Player of the Match trophy, expressing admiration for his redemption.

Besides Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford also missed their penalties in the 2020 final. Nevertheless, England will face the Netherlands in the semi-finals, aiming to advance closer to winning the Euros.

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was left visibly baffled after his number was called to be substituted off against Switzerland, during the Euro quarter-finals. His name mistakenly appeared on the fourth official’s board, prompting the referee to instruct him to exit the field.

Bellingham was left bewildered when his number was displayed for substitution during England’s match against Switzerland. He refused to leave the pitch, insisting that a mistake had been made and he wasn’t supposed to be substituted. He was proved right as Kobbie Mainoo, Kieran Trippier and Ezri Konsa were the ones to depart instead.

As other players left the pitch, Eberechi Eze, Cole Palmer, and Luke Shaw entered. The game ended 1-1 after extra time, with England prevailing 5-3 in the penalty shootout.
