Jude Bellingham’s seemingly vulgar gesture after scoring a match-changing goal against Slovakia goes viral

It’s safe to say that England pulled off a marvelous comeback against Slovakia in the Round of 16 on Sunday night. The Three Lions were saved from the verge of being knocked out by none other than Jude Bellingham himself! The entire contingent on English fans erupted in celebrations as the 21-year-old pulled off an unbelievable bicycle kick to pull his side level.

However, the youngster’s passionate celebrations have gone viral on social media for controversial reasons. A viral clip on social media shows the forward gesturing vulgarly toward what appears to be players near the touchline. In the clip, the player is seen kissing his hand and seemingly gesturing towards his private area.

Even though players do get passionate when scoring late goals, Bellingham’s gesture has been criticized on social media by many. Several fans want Bellingham to be penalized for his actions while others waited for clarity from the youngster.

Bellingham recently turned 21 and despite failing to impress in the group stages, managed to score a late goal to save his side in the knockouts.

Despite England’s thrilling & late victory over Slovakia, several users on social media have pointed their fingers at Jude Bellingham. The player’s seemingly vulgar gesture has turned heads on social media, and eventually forced Bellingham himself to offer an explanation for the same. Bellingham posted his response on X while replying to the viral clip.

The 21-year-old asserted that he holds the utmost respect for his opponents and that the gesture was in no way aimed at them.

An inside joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game. Nothing but respect for how that Slovakian team played tonight.

Slovakia gave Gareth Southgate‘s side an almighty scare after taking the lead 25 minutes into the game. England were unable to find the net till very late, with Bellingham’s goal coming in the 5th minute of injury time. England players’ celebrations mirrored their relief as The Three Lions avoided the embarrassment of going out in the second round despite being tournament favorites.
