Andy Murray‘s mother Judy Murray was disappointed after leak of his surgery details. The Brit underwent procedure on his back and rumors of his Wimbledon withdrawal started spreading.

There was no official confirmation either from Murray or his team. Even ATP Tour’s X posted that the 37-year-old wouldn’t be participating in his home Grand Slam tournament, but deleted the tweet later.

ATP probably had tweeted it after a report published by The Telegraph stated that as Murray would require six weeks to recover, he would miss Wimbledon. In the midst of all this, Judy decided to put an end to the rumors by slamming a person for leaking private information about the surgery.

When your private medical details are leaked to the media by someone you thought you could trust. So disappointing. And - FYI - not ruled out yet.

Earlier this year, the three-time Grand Slam champion stated that he is not likely to play beyond the summer and that he would hang up his racket either at the Wimbledon or the Paris Olympics, but the back injury ruined his plans. The Scot is a Wimbledon and Olympic champion, winning the titles between 2012 and 2016.

Leon Smith says no decision has been made about Andy Murray’s Wimbledon participation

After The Telegraph’s report, an interview of the head of men’s tennis at the Lawn Tennis Association, Leon Smith, caused confusion about Andy Murray‘s participation. Smith, who also leads Great Britain in the Davis Cup, asked everyone to wait for Murray’s final decision.

He obviously went through a procedure yesterday [Saturday] and you have to wait and see now. My understanding is no decision has been made and let's hope for the best for Andy.
Leon Smith told the BBC

The former World No.1 suffered the back injury during his second-round match against Australia’s Jordan Thompson at the Queen’s Club Championships. Thompson was leading by 4-1 when he received the walkover. Before his mid-match retirement, the Scot played a three-set match against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in his first round, winning with a scoreline of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

The 37-year-old, whose career is ruined by injuries, is currently World No. 129 and played his 1000th match against Popyrin. He is 6-12 on the year and has won 46 singles titles during his career, including three Grand Slam and 14 ATP Masters 1000 titles.
