It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience when NFL players decked up in skirts and went to McDonald’s at the crack of dawn. And this hilarious golden moment was witnessed by the staff of McDonald’s many years ago in New York.

It was a tale of Met Gala as former NFL wide receiver Julian Edelman revealed in his latest episode of the ‘Games with Names’ podcast. When the Philadelphia Eagles’ newly signed running back made his Met Gala debut during his initial days in the NFL, he was accompanied by Edelman sporting a James Bond attire and Odell Beckham Jr. in Scottish Kilts just like Saquon Barkley

We went to the Met Gala. When you go to those kinds of events, athletes always kind of congregate towards each other. So it was me, Saquon, Odell—and they wore skirts because it was camping or something.

Following the most glamorous fashion event of the year, the three NFL stars went to a McDonald’s, searching for a place to hang out at two am in the morning. While recalling that night, Julian Edelman revealed a hilarious story featuring Barkley and Beckham Jr. at McDonald’s.

They wore like some Scottish [expletive]. I just went James Bond. I just went cool with it. Saquon was still a young guy, and he’s like, ‘Man, we can’t eat this.’ And Odell looks at him or something, and he goes, ‘Dude, it’s May.'

Given that the running back was still new to professional football, he was quite dedicated to his health and the sacrifices that come with the role of an athlete. But thanks to Beckham Jr., Barkley learned that everyone is allowed a cheat day.

Saquon Barkley’s shocking shift to the Eagles

The former New York Giants RB’s dedication and sincerity toward football has brought him far and made him a star player. This offseason, Barkley caught quite the spotlight with his shocking move to the Eagles in a three-year deal worth $37 million.

The reason the move was so shocking was because the running back initially had no plans to leave his original team, the Giants. But since they were not willing to offer him the deserving contract that he sought, they let him go in the free agency and then matched the offer he got.

Barkley was arguably the best player that the Giants drafted in the offense since 2018. Despite contributing at such a level, when he found the Giants were hesitant to offer him a worthy deal, he took it as disrespect–which eventually brought him to Philly.
