UFC Vegas 23: Julian Marquez secures the victory over Sam Alvey with a submission

The middleweights Sam Alvey (33-14-1 MMA, 10-9-1 UFC) and Julian Marquez (8-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) locked horns inside the octagon at UFC Vegas 23, and after a tough contest, Julian Marquez got the victory over Sam Alvey via submission (rear-naked choke).
Round 1: The fight started with both fighters trying to figure each other out, Marquez started pushing Sam in the corner but still wasn’t engaging, but once they let that hands-free they were swinging haymakers but unfortunately none of them was connecting.
Marquez then found his range and landed some big shots to drop Sam but he recollected himself and got back up but Marquez kept the pressure and stunned him a couple of times before the round ended.

Round 2: Marquez kept the pressure strong and was hurting Sam, he landed a bunch of clean right hands and stunned him. He dropped Sam down with a counter right hook and secured the victory with a rear-naked choke.
Result: Julian Marquez won the fight via submission (rear-naked choke) in round number two.
