Is Julio Urias officially done in MLB or is comeback possible vs. Trevor Bauer’s suspension?

Pitcher Julio Urias won’t be making an MLB comeback anytime soon in 2025, but will he also be blacklisted by the teams like Trevor Bauer? So far it seems like Urias will only be reinstated from the restricted list on July 17.
He was placed on administrative leave back in 2023 due to his arrest but pleaded no contest in May to one count of misdemeanor on domestic battery. It was also his second penalty by the league after a 20-game suspension in 2019.
The 20213 incident took place outside the BMO stadium in LA where the Department of Public Safety got an anonymous call on an altercation between a man and a woman. Shortly after the incident, Julio Urias was placed on administrative leave by the MLB following a charge of injury to a spouse.
He was placed on 36 months of probation and ordered to complete 30 days of community labor, along with a 52-week domestic violence counseling course. Since then he has yet to make any media appearance until the BMO stadium altercation video was released.
Julio Urías has been suspended through the 2025 All-Star break for violating MLB's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

His career took a standstill throughout the 2024 season and now with the latest suspension, half of the 2025 season is gone. However, unlike Trevor Bauer, whose career in MLB seems to have gotten blacklisted, Urias might have a chance to sign with a team after the All-Star break.
In April 2022, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced that Bauer would be suspended for 324 games without pay for violating MLB’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy. However, since the incident, the pitcher has denied all allegations and is currently affiliated with a minor league team.
Despite repeated pleas from the pitcher, any MLB teams have yet to reach out for signing. Furthermore, Bauer, on several occasions, noted that he’ll play for any team for $0 if he can make a comeback to the major league.

Till now, there’s been no positive update or rumors of Trevor Bauer making an MLB comeback and at this point, it seems far-fetched that he might be able to do so. However, whether that’ll be the same scenario for Julio Urias is yet to be seen.
Julio Urias suspension and charges in 2019 and 2023
In May 2019, Julio Urias was suspended on suspicion of domestic battery but was not held accountable by the LA county under conditions that he follow a 52-week domestic violence counseling course. He was suspected of making a minor league appearance but has missed the entirety of the 2024 season.

Urias was suspended for 20 games with the major league allowing him to serve five games while on administrative leave. At that time, LA Dodgers manager Dave Roberts commented that “it’s disappointing” but they respect the league’s discipline and will be focusing on the future instead.
After the 2023 BMO stadium incident, he was suspected of domestic violence and charged accordingly. His 1-year deal $4.7 million deal with the Dodgers ended that year in December and Urias has not stepped foot in the major league teams ever since.
List of MLB players suspended by the league under domestic violence policy
Ex-Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias put his name on top of the list for getting suspended due to domestic violence policy after New York Yankees pitcher Jimmy Cordero’s suspension back in 2023. He missed the team’s final 76 games and the postseason after accepting the punishment.

Since then Cordero has played with the minor league Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan’s league and signed the 2025 season with Toros de Tijuana of Mexico. Apart from him, in 2023, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco also got suspended due to allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation of a minor.
Since then he has not made any MLB appearances and remains on the restricted list. Apart from him, some other suspended players under MLB for domestic violence policy are – Aroldis Chapman, Domingo German, Addison Russell, Roberto Osuna, Jose Reyes, and Hector Olivera.
