The 2020-21 season in the NBA has been such a roller coaster for a lot of teams. Most evidently the New York Knicks and their star Julius Randle. The New York Knicks are having a season to remember with 8 straight wins so far. Their recent winning streak is the highest in the past decade of the franchise history. Julius Randle has been the player that has kept the team at such a good stature. He was previously a member of the Los Angeles Lakers where he shared the bench along legendary Kobe Bryant. Teaming up with Kobe Bryant, Julius Randle has learned some life skills along with game. Recently, Julius Randle how the 5-time champion valued their relationship in an emotional admission.
The New York Knicks are currently #4 in the Eastern Conference. Coming out of a slump, Julius Randle has dragged the team a long way. This is probably the biggest story of the season so far. However, former 5-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant has left an impression in the NBA that a lot of players including Randle value. The New York Knicks star recently opened up Kobe Bryant’s value in his life. He has a huge respect for the mamba and feels grateful to have played along such a legend. He revealed, “Honestly, I think about him every day… I was talking to one of my teammates, he was like bro Kobe probably would have come to the game. Then I was talking to my wife yesterday, it’s kind of surreal because it’s a journey throughout my career and how everything is going right now. For me, I know, just the relationship that I had with him, he would be proud.”
He added, “it’s tough because I’d love for him to be able to see it [Knicks winning]. For me, personally… even throughout the course of the last season, the ups and downs of this season, just being able to pick up the phone, text, or call him. Just take a little advice or talk whatever it is, you take those things for granted a little bit.”
Beyblade was #7 pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014 draft. He was chosen above Zach LaVine, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic to be part of the franchise. This proved that the team had huge expectation form the potential star. Julius Randle delivered for the Lakers before ending up at the Knicks.
