“Just a podcaster” – Michael Malone’s surprising admission to JJ Redick has Laker fans on cloud nine
Denver Nuggets head coach Mike Malone lauded JJ Redick and his squad for halting their nine-game winning streak in its tracks.

Mike Malone praises JJ Redick after their streak of wins halted
The Lakers put on a clinic against the Nuggets last night, snapping Denver’s nine-game winning streak with a decisive 123-100 victory at Ball Arena. Luka Doncic gave his best performance to date as a Laker. Four of the Lakers’ starters scored over 20 points to snatch the road victory. Naturally, with the triumph over the team’s Kryptonite from the past couple of years: new head coach JJ Redick has been getting a ton of love lately.
Among his admirers was Denver Nuggets’ championship-winning head coach, Mike Malone. After the game, Coach Malone dissected what went wrong for his team while also giving credit to Redick’s coaching acumen and the Lakers’ newly found sense of enthusiasm and urgency. Here’s what the 53-year-old had to say during the post-game conference:
I felt they were just a lot more physical and lot more aggressive than we were……we were outplayed tonight; we were out coached tonight.

“We were outplayed tonight, we were out coached tonight.”
Although the Nuggets’ nuclear weapon, Nikola Jokic, managed to put up another triple-double, there was a day-and-night difference in his performance. He was thrown off his groove by the Lakers’ aggressive doubling and physical defense. JJ Redick had his fingerprints all over this defensive game plan, which successfully disrupted the Serbian star.
Offensively, Redick’s vision was evident in the Lakers’ balanced attack and distributed scoring approach today. Luka Doncic (32 points), LeBron James (25), Austin Reaves (23), and Rui Hachimura (21) all stepped up, suggesting a scheme that maximized spacing and ball movement—stuff Redick used to preach as an ESPN analyst.
Most Hilarious Fan Reactions to Nuggets Coach vs. Lakers’ Podcaster
Of course, fans soaked up this win more than anybody. As you’d expect, they let their adversaries have an earful, especially since the Nuggets have been consistently dubbed the Lakers’ kryptonite since late 2022. Referring to LA’s head coach as a “podcaster,” one fan wrote, “Lakers podcaster coach is spanking Malone up and down the floor.” Let’s take a look at some of the best fan reactions:

Why wait to be 17 down in the 4th to bring Joker back?

Good. I hope this never happens again. Nuggets definitely gonna be on a win streak again after this

While some lauded JJ along with Malone, others were still in denial. Most Denver fans were unconcerned with the new outlook of the Lakers, with Luka Magic spearheading the squad this time around. After the game, LeBron compared this new duo to a WR and QB after Doncic threw a slick lob to LeBron James for the dunk in the first quarter.
