Justin Gaethje is one of the most entertaining fighters on the current UFC roster with a massive fan following. ‘The Highlight’ has been part of several wars and never has boring fights. As he prepares for UFC 313, fans may only have a few more chances to witness his performances before he leaves.

Gaethje is currently 36 years old, and remains in his last stint as a professional fighter. With 25 wins and 5 losses, it will be Gaethje’s 31st outing as a MMA fighter at UFC 313. In a recent video, while singing fight posters, the American fighter has revealed that he only has a few more fights in the tank.

I have spot for like two more, right above the couch. It’s amazing that I have made it on so many posters.

Since his UFC debut in 2017, the ‘Highlight’ has fought 13 bouts, some which were against big names. He has never fought anyone outside the top 10 rankings and has mostly been part of big pay-per-view events. However, Gaethje has never won the undisputed lightweight championship.

He fought twice for the title against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira and always fell short. With his retirement being close, he and Dustin Poirier share a similar legacy in the MMA community. However, before that, the American fighter needs to take care of his upcoming fight this weekend.

Justin Gaethje can’t wait to fight at UFC 313

Justin Gaethje loves fighting and likes to put himself in tough and chaotic situations in most of his bouts. The lightweight fighter’s style enables him to participate in brawls where he can knock out his opponents. On the flip side, it also results in the fighters taking significant damage during their bouts.

In his last outing, Gaethje got brutally knocked out by Max Holloway and he has remained away from the limelight till now. However, with his upcoming fight with Rafael Fiziev, Gaethje can’t help but to get excited. In a recent interview, he talked about his approach for the much anticipated clash.

I think if I start to worry about the risks then I would just retire. This is a very risky sport and I love the intensity that it brings and I have been yearning to get back in there and full that.

Fiziev and Gaethje have already fought in 2023 where the Arizona native absolutely bloodied the former. Going into the co-main event of UFC 313, many fans and experts are expecting the same result. Nevertheless, the Azerbaijan national is ready to pull off an upset, which may shock everybody.
