With the US Presidential Elections around the corner, candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are trying to reach out to the public in various ways. One of those methods employed by the Vice President is to appear on a podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.
When the two appeared on the latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, host Shaquille O’Neal asked them about their experience. From their words it was evident that Jackson was initially not happy about having to do this interview with the VP.
It stems from two reasons, one being his history with law enforcement and the other being his aversion to politics. But Barnes mentioned the way his podcast partner was made comfortable by Kamala Harris herself.
Jack was sunglasses on in the VP’s house, sitting in the corner, super uninterested. Until she came in and charmed the f**k out of him. She took us away and started showing us around the house, she shows us a couple of art pieces. She showed a couple of more pieces, and she had a dope chandelier. It looked like a bunch of bongs to be honest with you.
Matt Barnes said
Matt Barnes did say that the Vice President probably felt that Stephen Jackson was uneasy. That is why, before sitting down to talk, she took them for a tour of the Vice President’s house, just so that the conversations could ease his mind.
It eventually did, as Barnes revealed. The former San Antonio Spurs star shed his stress and proceeded to complete the sit down with ease. But Barnes believes the bong-based chandelier had some part to play in it, considering Jackson’s history with it.

Stephen Jackson’s uneasiness with politics and politicians dates back a long time. His most recent exchange was during the George Floyd protests. Kamala Harris probably knew of his history, and along with his early demeanor, she understood he needed to be calmed down. Jackson revealed how they bonded later.
My daughter got a letter from Kamala, she’s doing some great things in college. My mom and my aunts were all excited about it. So, the women in my life, who mean the world to me, it meant a lot to them.

Stephen Jackson and the Vice President also talked about George Floyd’s daughter during their interview on the All the Smoke podcast. She specifically asked about how Floyd’s daughter was doing in life. Jackson being close to the Floyd family, mentioned his respect for the Vice President grew.
