Tim Walz’s dismissal of Donald Trump supporters evokes wrestling match challenge from WWE legend
Once feared as The Big Red Machine in WWE, Glenn Jacobs, is banking on his wrestling experience to battle a 60-year-old Tim Walz.

A couple of months into Donald Trump assuming the office of POTUS, the political imbroglio in the States has stayed on course. Recently, Minnesota governor Tim Walz told his California counterpart, Gavin Newsom, that he could kick most of Trump’s supporters right in their butts. The quote from the clip spread like wildfire and made it to Kane.
Former WWE Superstar Kane (real name Glenn Jacobs), the mayor of Knox County, is down to fight Walz given his recent choice of words. Jacobs first pitched to take on both Walz and Newsom in a tag team match, partnering with ex-WWE star Tyrus. The Big Red Machine has now issued a formal challenge to the governor of Minnesota.
Taking to X, the retired wrestler proposed to have a charity bout with Walz, the proceeds of which will be split in half between their respective organizations. Jacobs has vowed to put in $10,000 as the first man to take a step forward. He’s now awaiting Mr. Walz’s take on this.
All joking aside, @GovTimWalz, let's put our money where our mouth is…in a charity wrestling match. We'll split the gate 50/50 between our chosen organizations. I'll kick things off myself with a $10,000 donation. What do you say? #TennesseeWalz#LetsDance pic.twitter.com/2VV6j4RYs2

The latter has been actively leading the charge against Donald Trump‘s tariff imposition on all imports from around the globe. The US prez aide Glenn and his ambitious wrestling overture is gaining mainstream attention as expected.
The Florida governor, Ron DeSantis, has offered to play a neutral host for Jacobs vs. Walz. It’d be interesting to see how far it goes. Does the online banter even have legs to translate into something remotely close to what is known as wrestling is a huge question mark.
Kane did enough theatrics to boost Donald Trump’s election campaign last year
The weeks prior to Election Day in the US were nothing less than on-screen drama that leads to a PLE, as they call it in WWE these days. Donald Trump even agreed to have an exclusive podcast with The Undertaker, who’s famously known to wrestling fans as Kane’s half-brother.

Trump, Taker, and Kane shot a dramatic TikTok video calling out their Democratic rivals. The Republican trio envisioned the then-approaching elections as a WWE-style six-man tag team proposition against Kamala Harris, Walz, and Dave Bautista.
After Trump swept Harris in the polls, Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, redirected to the aforementioned clip. He jibed at his political enemies. Bautista had been vouching for Harris for a long time. The former WWE icon even trolled Trump in a Jimmy Kimmel skit.
None of that helped his cause, as a unanimous Republican victory was on the horizon. Dave hasn’t commented on what went wrong with the party he voted for. Just like The Animal, another former WWE great who endorsed Harris was Mick Foley. However, once the results were out, the erstwhile Mankind was distraught.
When was Kane’s last match in WWE?
Kane, the more vicious side of the Knox County Mayor, hasn’t wrestled in a long time. The 57-year-old last competed in the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2021 behind closed doors. He’s made a few WWE appearances here and there but hasn’t been around enough.

Jacobs once turned up on SmackDown in September 2021 to bestow a proclamation from the Tennessee Senate on Bianca Belair. Kane’s last televised appearance came at SummerSlam 2022, where he touted the PLE’s attendance. There’s nothing left for him to achieve inside the squared circle.
But who knows if Tim Walz is willing enough to take the gauntlet to The Big Red Monster? That does sound unreal, but pro wrestling does say, “Never Say Never.” Thus far, it’s been one-way traffic between Walz and Glenn.
