In a pivotal AFC West clash, the Denver Broncos (8-2) face the defending division champion Kansas City Chiefs (5-4). Sitting atop the division, the Chiefs travel to the Empower Field at Mile High Stadium for a Week 11 matchup against their rivals.
The Broncos started the season tepidly before their fortunes changed in Week 4. The Broncos entered the matchup with a 1-2 record against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Broncos quickly silenced the Bengals, led by Jake Browning, and earned the momentum they needed. The Broncos have maintained the streak with seven consecutive wins ever since.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs can’t get a break. Patrick Mahomes had one of the worst starts of his career. After a commanding win over the Detroit Lions when they were 2-3, the Chiefs seemed to have gotten their rhythm back with three straight wins. However, the Buffalo Bills ended their run and pushed them out of the playoff spots.
The loss also challenged the Chiefs’ chances of winning their tenth straight division title. The Broncos have three more wins compared to the Chiefs with one more game played. Meanwhile, the second-placed Los Angeles Chargers are two wins ahead of the Chiefs as well.
Additionally between the three teams, Chiefs have the hardest schedule with games against both the division opponents and Indianapolis Colts. In fact, there are two games remaining against the Broncos.
As the two head into action, the stakes are higher than ever before for the Chiefs, for whom a loss would set them back to a .500 record. Moreover, the Chiefs also want to shake off the shutout loss in Week 18 last season. Though it was a game after they secured the conference seed, the Chiefs didn’t expect a shutout to close the campaign.

Why can the Kansas City Chiefs win?
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a bye week, and Andy Reid has been stellar in games off the bye week. He has lost just four times in total.
The Chiefs are spearheaded by Patrick Mahomes, whose performance would be crucial against the Denver defense. After two silent seasons, Mahomes has exploded offensively this year, completing 204-of-316 passes for 2,349 yards, throwing 17 touchdowns against five interceptions with a 64.6% completion rate and 7.4 yards per attempt. He is ranked fifth in passing yards and seventh in both touchdowns and attempts.
Why can the Denver Broncos win?
The Denver Broncos have the best pass rush in the league with the most sacks across the first ten weeks. The Broncos, led by Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper, have registered 46 sacks, 14 more than any other team in the league.
Though Patrick Mahomes is a beast against pressure, the Denver defense is quick and efficient. Even without Pat Surtain II, the defense is strong. They rank first in defensive EPA per game (7.4) and sit 19th in offensive EPA per game (0.08).

While the Kansas City Chiefs have struggled to win the one-score possession games this year, the Broncos have been winning these games. The Broncos are 6-2 in all the single-score games this year, six of them.
Bo Nix has been quite inconsistent this year and flawed, but he has ensured that he gets the team off the mark with clutch performances in the end minutes. Last but not least, the Broncos have the home advantage. They are 5-0 at home this season.
