Kapil Dev discharged from hospital, Chetan Sharma shares picture on Twitter

Former Indian cricketer and World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has been discharged from hospital after a successful angioplasty operation. The former all-rounder had suffered a heart attack earlier this week. He then underwent angioplasty and was admitted to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute at Okhla Road.
In a statement released, the hospital had announced that Kapil would be discharged in two days. “Former Indian Cricket captain Mr. Kapil Dev , Age 62 years, came to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on 23rd October with a complaint of chest pain. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary Angioplasty was performed by Dr. Atul Mathur, Director of Cardiology Department, in the middle of night,” the statement read.
“Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision of Dr. Atul Mathur and his team. Mr. Kapil Dev is stable now and he is expected to get discharged in couple of days,” it added.

Chetan Sharma, who was Kapil’s teammate during their cricketing days, shared the news of Kapil’s discharging on Twitter and also posted his photo after being discharged from the hospital.
Kapil Dev had been working as a cricket expert during the ongoing IPL 2020. It is now expected that he will take a break before returning to work. One of the greats of Indian cricket, Kapil had taken up coaching after retirement before switching to commentary and cricket analysis.
