Karen Khachanov lost the quarterfinal round battle against British player Dan Evans at the 2020 European Open. The match was filled with drama and controversies as the Russian resorted to yelling and damaging court property in a spite of anger. The events during the match between Karen Khachanov and Dan Evans were the highlights of the day.

It is natural to be annoyed when leading with a match point and losing the set at a crucial stage. But ATP Antwerp courts were echoing with grunts of Khachanov as the players yelled and resorted to dispute with the chair umpire. However, on an awakening note, he has posted a heartfelt message apologising for his actions.

In a recent story posted on Instagram by Karen Khachanov, the player has apologised for his behaviour. In the second set, there were close calls made by the umpire that upset Khachanov. Thus in his post Russian mentioned the official too.

“After the match I spoke to the umpire, he apologized to me for the mistakes he’s made during our match and I apologized to him for my rude behaviour. At the end of the day we are all humans and able to do mistakes,” he wrote.

The player was aware of his on court actions and accepted that he failed to control his temperament in the midst of the match. The Russian ended his note after thanking his fans for their support.

Khachanov was the third seed at the tournament, however, he lost to Evans 3-6 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 after dropping the opening set.
