Karrios Kross and The Final Testament feuded with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits in the leadup to WrestleMania XL. The two factions’ rivalry culminated in a Philadelphia Street Fight at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Ahead of their match, Lashley and Kross engaged in a heated social media back-and-forth, leading fans to speculate on a possible real-life beef between them. However, that is not the case at all, at least according to Kross.
Recently, the 39-year-old appeared on Chris Van Vliet‘s podcast. Kross addressed his relationship with Lashley and what had actually transpired. The former NXT Champion heaped praise on Lashley, stating that it was a pleasure to work with him, especially at the biggest stage. Kross revealed that he was a huge fan of Lashley’s work during his 2006 run in ECW. In fact, Kross recalled how he spoke with The Almighty following their bout at WrestleMania.
Interestingly, this ended up being Lashley’s last match at a WWE PLE. A month later, the veteran suffered an injury, which sidelined him from television. In August, Bobby Lashley‘s contract expired, and he opted not to renew his deal. All signs hint towards the two-time WWE Champion soon debuting in AEW, allying with MVP and Shelton Benjamin to re-form The Hurt Business.
Meanwhile, Kross got drafted to the red brand afterward. The Final Testament leader and his faction targeted The New Day next. Moreover, Kross formed the cracks between the 11-time Tag Team Champions by manipulating Xavier Woods. Since the end of their rivalry, Karrion Kross has now shifted his attention to The Miz, similarly advising him to move on from his tag team partner, which he did.
Bobby Lashley was supposed to debut at AEW WrestleDream
After his brutal encounter with “Hangman” Adam Page at All Out, Swerve Strickland finally returned at AEW WrestleDream. Straightaway, Strickland was dealt with a tough decision to make. MVP had offered Strickland a chance to join him to further elevate his career. Despite the tempting offer, Strickland chose to stay with Prince Nana instead.
The segment ended with Swerve and Nana celebrating. However, this angle was supposed to set up the debut of none other than Bobby Lashley. According to Ibou of WrestlePurists, AEW postponed Lashley’s debut due to the overwhelming number of major angles on the show.
As mentioned, the former WWE Champion is expected to appear alongside his former Hurt Business teammates, MVP and Shelton Benjamin. Following what has unfolded in the last few weeks, it seems that his in-ring debut will most likely be against Strickland.
