Karrion Kross has risen from the ashes as one of the sentimental favorites this year. The former NXT Champion had started to gain notable fan attention ever since his shoot-style rant alluding to his mistreatment in WWE following WrestleMania 41. Its aftermath saw his supporters stage an online movement with numerous hashtags in his favor, intended to make the higher-ups aware of it.

Despite high hopes of a contract renewal from WWE, ‘The Doomsday’ is no longer with the company, as of August 10. It has the fans in distress, which was on display during this week’s SmackDown. A packed house at the TD Garden in Boston rang out with numerous “We Want Kross” chants in the opening segment of the show that featured the US Champion Solo Sikoa being confronted by Kross’ recent foe, Sami Zayn. Reacting to it on X, The Doom Walker wrote, “I hear you.”

The clip featuring those pro-Kross chants is making the rounds on social media, with the wrestler himself reposting every bit of it. It sure does seem like the 40-year-old from New York is truly overwhelmed by the ongoing downpour of support from the fans. He recently told Ariel Helwani on his show that he hasn’t felt like that his entire life before. Kross added that it has blessed him with weighing his options and not committing to anything that he feels isn’t right for him.

The former NXT Champion also confirmed that AEW isn’t one of the companies that have reached out to him in the meantime. When asked if he was surprised by it, Kross said he wasn’t because of the convoluted nature of his WWE exit floating in the market, raising concerns about whether his exit from the company is legit or merely a work.

Did WWE even present Karrion Kross with an offer to re-sign?

In the aforementioned conversation with Ariel Helwani, Karrion Kross revealed that he didn’t receive a contract renewal offer from WWE until Tuesday of last week. When he tried to inquire about the valuation of the deal that was presented to him, the company couldn’t provide him with the necessary information.

On top of that, Kross was told he had 24 hours to agree to it or the offer would be rescinded. A day later, when they talked, ‘The Harbinger of Doom’ told the negotiators that he wouldn’t be able to make an informed decision without knowing the necessary metrics, but said that he would like to keep the dialogue open.

However, by that point, the offer had been canceled, and the two sides haven’t talked ever since then. ‘The Doom Walker’ is still willing to resolve the differences and said that he and his wife, Scarlett, would like to stay with WWE. Speaking of her, Kross noted that she wasn’t offered to re-sign with the company.

Karrion Kross had a gut feeling about SummerSlam being his last WWE match

Karrion Kross could very well plot a return to WWE if the weekly wrestling crowds on Raw and SmackDown continue to hijack the shows with his chants. But for now, his last match happened to be against Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. ‘The Doomsday’ was asked if he actually felt it was going to be his last time inside a WWE ring, at least for the time being.

First of all, Kross said he was extremely grateful for the opportunity to have performed in front of nearly 60,000 fans. And then, coming to the main part, Kross admitted that he did have a gut feeling about his clash with Zayn ending up being his last in WWE. The erstwhile Killer Kross said he could feel it in his body language and energy the entire day before he even stepped out to wrestle.

He even had a friend telling him to do something special for the fans in attendance to acknowledge their love and support. Kross, however, wanted to stay professional in that setting, as that moment, by design, was meant to put Zayn over as a payoff to their story. If he were to change anything about it, Kross said he would’ve liked to get nuked in the matchup.
