For those who’d been hoping for the entire Karrion Kross situation to be a work, it doesn’t seem like one. As of August 10, his WWE contract, along with his wife Scarlett, has expired. The former NXT Champion posted a detailed video on his YouTube channel where Kross addressed all the burning topics encompassing his contract expiration.

In an interesting tidbit from the aforementioned video, the 40-year-old could be heard expressing his disappointment over certain people in WWE asking him not to take those “We Want Kross” chants seriously. ‘The Doom Walker’ was even told not to acknowledge that kind of overwhelming response from the audience, which didn’t sit well with the New Yorker.

The erstwhile Killer Kross would often post on social media about the groundswell in his support. He mentioned that, contrary to what the cynics had said, the unprecedented wave of support for him only grew manifold as more and more weeks went on. Kross affirmed that it wasn’t something that was manufactured or thought of.

Instead, the steady overhaul in his standing among the WWE Universe was organic, said the grappler billed from Nevada. Kross also noted the recent uptick in his perception among fans is a by-product of how he’s been treated by WWE in the past three years. However, it didn’t lead to anything significant for ‘The Doom Walker’, regardless of what those in the arenas were waiting for.

The fact that the audience couldn’t get what it had been wanting upset him a lot. Kross’s last WWE match resulted in a clean pinfall loss to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. The former ‘Honorary Uce’ chipped away with a 2-1 unassailable lead to close his trilogy with Kross. It’d be interesting to see if Zayn remains Kross’ last-ever WWE match opponent or if there’s more to come.

Karrion Kross was discouraged from greeting fans by some people in WWE

It does seem like there were a number of people in WWE who were disgruntled over fans pouring their hearts and souls into backing Karrion Kross up. Because if not so, why would anyone in the company tell him not to greet the fans and discourage ‘The Doomsday’ from taking pictures and signing autographs for people who wait for these wrestlers even after the shows get over?

In the aforementioned tell-all video from Kross, he recalled an incident after a Raw taping in Providence last month. Kross and Scarlett were exiting the building, but they were greeted by a large crowd of fans, and that certainly overwhelmed the couple. In a video that made rounds on social media, Scarlett was caught pinching Kross a couple of times to direct his attention toward a little girl who’d been trying to meet him for a while.

The ex-Final Testament leader thought his wife was doing it to tell him that they’d forgotten some of their belongings in the arena. However, once Kross realized the actual matter, he made a beeline for that young fan and greeted her with the utmost love and affection. He would then click pictures and sign autographs for as many people as he could by overstaying.

But as seen in the clip above, a heartbroken Karrion Kross revealed that some people in WWE told him that he shouldn’t have done that, being an on-screen villain. He felt he did nothing wrong by putting smiles on a number of faces and said he wouldn’t change anything about it if given the opportunity to do so. ‘The Doom Walker’ said he’s learned it from legends of this business who would do the same thing when he was a kid and used to attend wrestling shows.

Speaking of whether he was offered to stay with WWE, Karrion Kross confirmed that he did receive a call about it. However, the conversation he had left ‘The Harbinger of Doom’ profoundly disappointed, as it was of little substance. Kross gave the person he was speaking to the benefit of the doubt by asserting that they may not realize how passionate he is about being a pro wrestler. As of now, the 6-foot-4 grappler is done with WWE and is accepting independent bookings.
