Leonard and PG teaming up had some misfortunes and has a legacy of ‘what ifs’ and season collapses. The furthest they reached was the Western Conference Finals. Moreover, the duo struggled with multiple injuries and struggled with fitness during certain playoff series. PG moves on to team up with former MVP Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey in the Eastern Conference.

Kawhi Leonard was called the ‘worst superstar in history’ last season

Kawhi Leonard had missed most of the 2024 NBA post-season. Fidgeting around his injury and joining the Clippers to help them in the first round of playoffs, the Clippers forward finally missed the playoffs. Having faced injuries during the regular season and being unable to show up in the playoffs, Leonard had accumulated the attention of big-time NBA critics.

The Clippers superstar was openly blamed for not being available for the team half of the season. He attended only 4 out of 19 games for the Clippers and has averaged only 40.3 games per season in the past for the team. As such, Stephen A Smith delivered a scathing remark labeling Leonard as the worst superstar in the NBA.

He said that the Clippers forward was never around for important playoff series. As such, his team cannot win without him. Leonard will continue with the Clippers next season. However, if the current pairing with James Harden does not elevate the Clippers into a playoff team, his future with the team will become uncertain. As such, the door will open for him to leave just like it did for Paul George.
