It’s a new season in the NFL but the same old fate seems to await fans of the New York Giants. Daniel Jones came into the season with immense expectations to perform, after all, the team decided to pay him $40 million a year after one good season. But the team collapsed in the week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings after the QB failed to get the offense going.
The Giants are looking to put week 1’s loss behind them and start afresh in week 2. They are now scheduled to face Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders. Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux is optimistic about his team’s chances against the rookie, in his most recent press conference, he does not seem worried by the prospect of facing them.
I would say Washington in particular, you know, they're not really a rival. but they are in our division so it's always a great game. We see them twice a year, I'm excited.Kayvon Thibodeaux said as he dismissed the matchup as a rivalry
"Washington, they're not really a rival…they're in our same division, so it's always a great game. I'm excited, Jayden Daniels is a great QB."

The linebacker becomes a different beast when he goes up against the commanders. In the last four times the Giants and the Commanders have met, Thibodeaux has put up solid numbers.
Kayvon Thibodeaux is excited at the prospect of playing against Jayden Daniels
Kayvon Thibodeaux has 15 tackles and 15.5 sacks against them in their last four matchups. The linebacker will look to continue his streak of dominance against the Commanders when the Giants take on them this Sunday.
Another interesting aspect of the Giants-Commanders matchup is the fact that Kayvon Thibodeaux will face Jayden Daniels.
Jayden Daniels is a great QB; he's from Cali, grew up knowing him, grew up with him, so I understand he's a great player, and I'm excited to go against him.Kayvon Thibodeaux added
The LSU alumnus had a decent debut in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He threw for 185 yards but was unable to throw a touchdown pass.
The Sunday matchup against the Commanders will be a game that will hand either of the team their first win of the season. If the Giants fail to win this game, it will be disastrous to team and fanbase morale. Considering the team is 2-1 against the Commanders since Thibodeaux entered the NFL, the Giants are going in as favorites to win the matchup.
