The battle of the rookie quarterbacks did not disappoint on Sunday. In an intense matchup that came down to the wire between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders, Jayden Daniels proved that he was the better quarterback after throwing a game-winning touchdown.

Jayden Daniels‘ Hail Mary pass will be memorable for the Commanders fanbase, who went berserk after the football was tipped by Tyrique Stevenson and landed right into the hands of Noah Brown. It was natural for the Commanders’ sideline to erupt with joy and celebrate. However, there was one man on the Chicago Bears’ sideline who had a smile on his face after seeing this play.

Keenan Allen could not help but sit in awe and smile at what he had just witnessed from Jayden Daniels. While all his teammates, including quarterback Caleb Williams, walked off with disappointment on their faces, Allen was captured with a wide smile across his face.

This was strange considering the Bears had just lost the game on the back of this one play.

Keenan Allen’s smile has led fans to speculate that the receiver wants out of Chicago

In his defense, that last play was a mix of skill and luck. An injured Jayden Daniels comes into the game and throws a 65-yard pass with no time left on the clock, and Tyrique Stevenson, the defensive back who was taunting the local fanbase just seconds before, wound up tipping the ball into Brown’s hands, and became victim to instant karma. The entire sequence could not have been more cinematic.

Keenan Allen’s smile did not sit well with Bears fans, who have begun to speculate that the wide receiver would rather have Jayden Daniels as his quarterback than Caleb Williams. Here’s how the fans reacted to his smile via X:

That is a fair point. The smile could have been Keenan Allen’s involuntary coping mechanism to the shocking turn of events.

The ending to the Bears-Commanders matchup is up there as one of the best finishes to a game this season. With this win, the Commanders improve to a 6-2 record on the season while Chicago falls to 4-3.
