It took some time, but Kelly Stafford finally clarified her earlier comments about Taylor Swift. The wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford claimed that she doesn’t dislike the pop icon at all.
During the recent episode of her The Morning After podcast with Hank Winchester, Kelly addressed the situation that pushed her into the spotlight earlier this year. It created a rift between her and Swift’s followers.
I have never once said I didn’t like Taylor Swift. But I will say I [kind of] got tired of the Chiefs’ coverage of it—actually, the NFL’s coverage—of this budding relationship last year. And can she do anything about that? No, she can’t.

Back in April 2024, the 34-year-old went on a rant about the NFL showing too much Taylor Swift. It diverted focus away from her husband and other players. Kelly re-ignited the same points but at the same time praised the league for their visionary move.
It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was outshining the games. And that’s what bothered me.

I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting all this attention [and all of a sudden], the football game was the sideshow. So yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the best of me.

Regardless of how Kelly views herself, she made her best efforts to stay in the good books of the Swifties. During All Hallows Eve, Kelly pulled out all the stops to catch the eyes of the gossip columns.
Matthew and Kelly took pictures dressed as Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s US Open look. Their four daughters also had Swift-themed costumes—a shoutout to her iconic dresses from the recent Eras Tour concerts.
Besides picking a fight with the Swifties, Kelly Stafford also ended up on the wrong side of a media trial after she confided dating Matthew’s backup at Georgia to make him jealous. Although it was unclear who specifically she was talking about, it caused a lot of commotion.
Many condemned her for being blunt about her college dating life after so many years of marriage with the Super Bowl winner. However, she remained rooted in her story and fired back at the ‘insecure men’ who treated her for doing so.
