Kelly Stafford came clean about her past fling with husband Matthew Stafford’s backup at Georgia Bulldogs, Joe Cox. She claimed people misinterpreted her statement, badmouthing the wrong person and their family.

Almost a fortnight ago, Stafford as per her usual schedule appeared on a podcast and spoke about how she and her husband became lovers. According to her, it was a typical college romance with a rough start.

After failing to woo the Bulldogs starting quarterback (2006-2008), the former cheerleaders began dating his backup quarterback. Her motive was to make Stafford jealous, pushing him to fall for her.

It worked because Stafford eventually proposed to her and later got married in 2015 while playing for the Detroit Lions. Her shocking revelation irked social media as they accused Kelly Stafford of being toxic.

Even though the history between the parents of four daughters was common knowledge, most argued some stories should never see the light of day, let alone after almost a decade of marriage. Stephen A. Smith questioned her purpose for creating such a ruckus with an irresponsible interview.

Stafford’s Georgia backup, Joe Cox reportedly felt the full brunt of online trolling. The Ole Miss tight ends head coach has refrained from making any clarification about Stafford’s statement.

Kelly Stafford revealed Joe Cox wasn’t the person she dated to make Matthew Stafford jealous

On Wednesday, June 26, Kelly Stafford added further. It was a long-written post on Instagram with a picture of Joe Cox with his wife Erica and three children.

To this beautiful fam... I am sorry for the media storm that happened last week that made its way into your lives,' she wrote in an Instagram story with an image of Joe, his wife Erica, and their three children.
Stafford wrote.

Stafford praised Cox and Erica who was also a cheerleader at Georgia per Daily Mail. She claimed they were the lovely pair she looked up to as relationship goals.

You had ZERO involvement in what I spoke about and in fact, it was y'all relationship in college that I looked up to and wanted for me and Matthew. You were the couple that everyone thinks Matthew and I was... y'all were the UGA QB and cheerleader that met and never let go. I love y'all.
Kelly Stafford said.

Now that Stafford clarified it wasn’t Cox, netizens have turned their gaze to two other QBs who played as backups to the Los Angeles Rams quarterback. They were Logan Gray and Joe Tereshinski III.
