Kendrick Lamar sends NBA world into frenzy again comparing Drake with Karl Malone’s criminal past

Kendrick Lamar uses Karl Malone's criminal past as a reference to Drake, sending the NBA world into a frenzy

For Kendrick Lamar, it seems the game between himself, and Drake has only started. After releasing a diss track yesterday, a mere half an hour after Drake released his long-awaited reply to Lamar’s earlier track, it seemed that the Grammy Award-winning rapper took the lead.

Now Lamar has released another diss track today. Most importantly, he again used a basketball analogy when he referenced Karl Malone‘s infamous past sending the NBA world into a frenzy. From Lamar’s latest song ‘Not Like Us’, the recent verse was a direct hit at Drake.

What Kendrick Lamar suggested was that just like Utah Jazz legend Karl Malone was embroiled in controversy, the same can be said for Drake. Essentially referencing the criminal side without directly talking about it.

This reference has been a continuation of what was suggested in yesterday’s release ‘Meet the Grahams’. In that song, Lamar suggested LeBron James and Stephen Curry keep their families away from Drake. That is in line with the rumors floating about Drake and his alleged involvement with underage teenagers.

Karl Malone was similarly subject to a news story that suggested that he had a child with an underage girl. This is why Kendrick Lamar used Malone’s reference to talk about Drake’s apparent misgivings. These references are blowing up the basketball world as a result.

Kendrick Lamar’s use of NBA reference send fans into a frenzy

In their beef, Kendrick Lamar and Drake have gone for each other’s weaknesses. But in that back-and-forth fight, NBA players have been dragged in. It should not be a surprise as James and Curry are friends with Drake. Karl Malone is also no stranger to Drake, as he used to live close to the Grammy Award winner and has met him on occasion.

Therefore, basketball fans had to go onto the internet to talk about this new link to basketball, which also references a criminal side. Check out some of those comments below;

Referencing to basketball has now become a norm as it is a sport both of them appreciate. But using links to the sport to get their message out has taken this beef to the next level. Only the two rap greats know how far this will go.
