Maybe it was because the Chiefs were down 24-0 or perhaps Taylor Swift was sitting in the stands; Kendrick Lamar’s performance during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show fell flat. Really flat.

Lamar beat out Lil Wayne and Miley Cyrus to bag the prestigious opportunity of performing in front of the Super Bowl audience. Fans were excited to see the Grammy winner’s presentation.

He received good news from the league authority to perform his controversial ‘Not Like Us’ song—a diss track he created for Drake. Unfortunately, fans inside or outside, watching in their home, met with disappointment.

Football fans call out Kendrick Lamar for poor Super Bowl halftime show

A couple of hours before the kickoff, there were murmurs on social media that Eminem was in New Orleans. Everyone thought the ‘RapGod’ might make a special appearance in one of Lamar’s songs. It turned out to be a hoax.

As previously announced, Lamar performed some of the best chartbusters. SZA executed her second-in-command duties, but the surprising moment of the entire presentation was the involvement of Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam and Serena Williams. The former World No. 1 female tennis player danced on stage to Lamar’s music. However, the shock value evaporated quickly and failed to penetrate the hearts of millions of fans across the world.

It was a great chance for Lamar to make more fans, but judging by the reviews on X, he might have lost a few. Regardless, the $75 million net-worth rapper probably won’t lose too much sleep over it. Then again, if Drake files a lawsuit, then things might get dicey.
