Kendrick Perkins ranked LeBron James fourth in his clutch players list.

While talking about some of the greatest scorers in NBA history, the conversation would not end without mentioning LeBron James. The star is considered one of the best performers on both sides of the court. However, some may argue about the four-time MVP’s clutch talent. As Kendrick Perkins does have James in his top 5, he still has three players above him.

During ESPN’s NBA Today, Kendrick Perkins made his list of the most clutch players in the league’s playoff history. The sports analyst and former player kept LeBron James at number four below Robert Horry and Bill Russell.

LeBron, he's always known for not being a killer but he has killed in clutch moments.

Big Perk chose James to be the fourth on the list due to his seven career buzzer-beaters, which are the second most in history by any NBA player. Yet Perkins felt that Horry and Russell were above James based on their titles and success in the playoffs.

Even though Russell and Horry were great clutch players, keeping their rank above James is arguable. Perkins did the expected thing at the end as he put Michael Jordan on top of the list. Unsurprisingly, the Chicago Bulls superstar has the most buzzer-beaters with two of them being series-ending shots.

According to Kendrick Perkins LeBron James’ long career would hurt his ‘GOAT’ legacy

James is currently the oldest player in the NBA. The star has some of the most incredible achievements in his 21-season-long career. Considering the player’s tenure, James’ retirement plans are often a topic of discussion among members of the NBA community.

After the star had an early exit from the playoffs, the conversations have started yet again. Many believed that the four-time champion’s consideration for the GOAT conversations would hurt based on his consecutive poor seasons. Even though Perkins ranked James low in clutch players, the analyst still believes that James is a GOAT and should retire to save his legacy.

The more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it’s going to hurt his legacy and the more it’s going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument.

James himself has previously admitted that the end is near for the star. However, considering his son Bronny is on his way to joining the league, James might make some sacrifices for his legacy to play alongside his son.
