“We have to stop shining the light on Bronny!” Kendrick Perkins SICK of LeBron James’ son getting all coverage on ESPN
ESPN has been extensively covering Bronny James ever since he arrived at the NBA Draft Combine.

Kendrick Perkins wants his company ESPN to stop giving Bronny James this much coverage despite him possibly going in the 2nd round of draft
This year’s NBA Draft class is devoid of any superstar-level players or anyone who jumps off the board. However, one player is getting the most attention. All that attention is falling on Bronny James. This led to analyst Kendrick Perkins believing that his friend, LeBron James‘ son should not be getting all the coverage from his company ESPN.
While on the show NBA Today, the panel was discussing the upcoming NBA Draft, and naturally James Jr.
We have to stop, As the media and everybody else, shining the light on Bronny. Because it's other players that deserve our attention. The lottery guys, the guys that are gonna get drafted in the 1st round. We're talking about a guy, a young man, that's possibly going to go late 2nd round. Or not get drafted at all. I've never in my 4 years of working here, I've never sat on a table where we're talking about a 2nd round pick.Kendrick Perkins on NBA Today
Kendrick Perkins even referenced 6-time champion Scottie Pippen‘s son who did not get this level of attention. Therefore, he wants his company to focus on players who are actually good.
His colleagues countered by suggesting that this is LeBron James‘ son in question. Even though sons of other great fathers have come through the draft, not one of them was in a situation to play together. But considering there is a high chance that James’ will play together, makes the draft noteworthy.
Both arguments have logic. On one hand, Bronny James might not even have been drafted had his father’s Los Angeles Lakers not had a draft pick at hand. But then, the all-time leading scorer in basketball history could still line up alongside his son.
Father LeBron James could be the only option Bronny James has
After the Draft Combine, many media outlets suggested that James Jr. impressed a lot of GMs. It suddenly meant that the former USC guard could move up the draft boards. There was even talk of teams monitoring James Jr. more than other picks, because of the after-effect of drafting him.
That is, they could potentially land his father LeBron James in free agency. After all, it is his wish to play alongside his son. However, off late that noise has dropped as Bronny James has made it clear that it is his father’s wish, but not his. It also was revealed recently that James Sr. might not come along as a package. There is an increasing possibility that he stays with the Los Angeles Lakers.
These insights have slowly and steadily taken the noise out of Bronny James’ camp. Therefore, it is highly likely that he will end up at No. 55 with the Los Angeles Lakers. A scenario that fits perfectly with their leading superstar’s plans.
